warranty scope

This warranty only applies to electric bikes purchased through our official German and Austrian websites (de.hitway.eu). If you purchased your bike from a third-party seller or dealer, please contact them directly for customer service. All HITWAY bike owners have the right to ask the HITWAY team for troubleshooting help throughout the lifetime of their bike, but customer service must be handled by the original dealer.

Warranty spare parts are only shipped within the EU.

Please note: Electric bikes are not sold to anyone under 16 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or adult when riding and must wear appropriate protective equipment.

warranty period

For the first-time buyer

We offer a 1-year warranty on every HITWAY electric bike, excluding wear and tear parts. The warranty begins from the date the original purchaser receives the bike.

For subsequent owners

Subsequent owners also receive a 1-year warranty, excluding wear and tear parts. Proof of original purchase is required and the warranty begins from the time the first owner received the bike.

Wear parts (not covered by the warranty)

“Wear and tear” refers to damage that occurs naturally and inevitably through regular use of the bicycle. These parts are not covered by this warranty policy. Below is a non-exhaustive list of typical wear and tear that is excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Tires
  • brake pads
  • brake cable
  • hoses
  • handles
  • chains
  • pinion
  • lights and light bulbs
  • seat covers
  • spokes
  • pedals
  • fuses

Incorrect assembly and improper use

Damage caused by incorrect assembly, accidents, improper repairs, modifications, corrosion or improper use is not covered by the warranty.

HITWAY assumes no liability for damage caused by unauthorized repairs or unauthorized parts.

Incorrect assembly, operation and maintenance

  • Incorrect assembly or installation: Problems caused by improper assembly or installation of the bicycle.
  • Accidents and Negligence: Damage caused by collisions, negligence, improper repairs, inadequate maintenance or abnormal, excessive or incorrect use.
  • Unauthorized modifications or installations: Modifications or installations of components, parts or accessories not originally designed or compatible with the Product.
  • Corrosion: Damage caused by corrosion is not covered.
  • Battery Damage: The battery is not covered for damage caused by power surges, use of inappropriate chargers, improper maintenance, normal wear and tear, or water damage.

For the avoidance of doubt, HITWAY is not responsible for any damage, malfunction or loss resulting from unauthorized service or use of unauthorized parts.

shipping damage

This warranty does not cover any damage to the product that occurs during shipping. However, HITWAY agrees to replace such damaged products if the following conditions are met:

  • You will notify HITWAY within seven (7) days of receipt of the original purchase that the product was damaged during shipping.
  • You will provide HITWAY with timely photos and/or videos showing the date and details of the damage.

If you choose to arrange independent shipping, such as through a freight forwarder or similar service, HITWAY is not responsible for replacing any products damaged during this shipping process.

warranty process

HITWAY will not replace any warranty parts covered by this Limited Warranty without first reviewing photos or videos of the damaged parts.

To exercise your right to replacement of warranted parts under this Limited Warranty, you must:

  1. Contact HITWAY Customer Service : Contact the HITWAY customer service team at contact @hitway .eu . The team will first work with you to diagnose the problem with your e-bike and identify possible simple solutions.

  2. Determine Replacement Needs : If the customer service team determines that a warranty assembly needs to be replaced, they will provide you with the necessary replacement parts and installation instructions.

  3. Installation Assistance : Once you receive the replacement parts, the customer service team will help you install the new parts on your e-bike.

  4. Local Repair Option : HITWAY customer service team may agree to have your bike repaired at a local repair shop and may offer to reimburse you for part of the repair cost.

bicycle theft

Unfortunately, product theft is not covered by the warranty. We recommend making a note of your bike's frame number and serial number upon receipt. Consider purchasing insurance to protect your bike if needed.

DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES

THIS IS A COMPLETE AND DETAILED STATEMENT OF HITWAY'S WARRANTY FOR THE PRODUCT. NO OTHER REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND MADE BY ANYONE SHALL CREATE A WARRANTY FOR THE PRODUCT. HITWAY'S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. IN NO EVENT SHALL HITWAY BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES. THIS LIMITATION DOES NOT EXCLUDE LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY HITWAY'S NEGLIGENCE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HITWAY HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, FOR THE DURATION OF THIS EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY.

Some states, provinces or countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply. If a court of competent jurisdiction finds any particular provision of this warranty to be inapplicable, all other provisions will remain in full force and effect.
